What’s in the Fridge?

Yum

I cleaned our refrigerator the other day. I don’t know about you, but I love to see how others do life -especially when it comes to the kitchen. So I thought I would share!

The mineral water is a special treat. The kids enjoy adding a bit of liquid stevia for a nice fizzy soda-like drink.

They actually prefer the raspberry lemonade drink to any other beverage. Find the recipe here.

I recently discovered MegumiNATTO. It’s organic and very high quality. I prefer to make my own but this is a great option. I buy in bulk and keep the rest in the freezer. I only have a couple of spoonfuls a day so my supply lasts a long time. The taste is VERY strong – but I can tell the quality is high. Find it here.

I use the fish sauce to make kimchi. There are lots of other uses, but so far I have only experimented with the kimchi. I buy Red Boat.

Wondering about the produce? The lettuce, cabbage, carrots etc. are in the bins below.

We are fortunate to have access to raw goat milk and fresh eggs. Our farmer, Nadine, refers to the chickens as her girls – no doubt they’re getting lots of outdoor time.

As for the cleaning process, white vinegar did the trick. For more tips on keeping your refrigerator clean naturally as well as ways to store your produce properly see momsAWARE’s Natural Year Challenge: Household Edition.

How fun to see what is in the refrigerator! I am getting ready to brew some kefir, and your picture re-inspired me to get going.
