Sugar-free Cacao Kisses

Yum

May 9, 2014 by Andrea Fabry 4 Comments

Cacao paste, sweetener, and coconut manna are blended to make this delightful dessert!

Enjoy this delicious, real food chocolate treat!

I try never to be without cacao paste. I buy it in bulk and keep it hidden in the freezer or extra refrigerator.  (I buy mine here.) Don’t have cacao paste? Substitute cacao butter and cacao powder.

Whenever a birthday or holiday rolls around, I’m ready. Cacao paste, along with some sweetener, makes for a delectable treat. (I eat the cacao paste chips raw which works against my efforts to keep this delicacy in stock.)

Wondering if cacao is good for you? In its purest form, cacao is full of nutrients.  See the previous post “Do You Love Chocolate?”

I love cacao paste because it’s 100% raw. The cacao beans and nibs are ground into a liquid state and then solidified at room temperature. It looks like this:

For our recent birthday celebration, I created a black and white star for the birthday girl and smaller “kisses” for the other family members.  They were a hit!
