Green Juice with Turmeric Boost

Yum

May 31, 2014 by Andrea Fabry 2 Comments

If you enjoy juicing greens try this immune-boosting combination of turmeric, ginger and greens. I keep a turmeric bug in my refrigerator at all times, adding it to a multitude of foods and drinks – including green juices.

Wondering about a turmeric bug? It’s a fermented version of turmeric similar to the ginger bug. Find out more here.

Green Juice with Turmeric

For this juice, I took the greens on hand, along with ginger and carrot and ran it all through my juicer. I added the turmeric bug before serving. If at all possible I try to include cilantro as it offers a wonderful cleansing boost.

What juice combinations do you enjoy?

Hi Andrea, thank you for this website. I love all the information you share and I love the title of the site — a wonderful reminder to be patient with ourselves as we recover our health.
I am trying to decide if I should purchase a juicer or a blender — or which one to purchase first. Do you have any thoughts on using juices vs smoothies to get healthy? I have had gut issues in the past and feel that as long as I do not eat grains or legumes or processed foods, my gut is ok.
    Thank you.

Since they both have value I would go with your gut instincts on this. The blender is faster and easier to use. I find myself making smoothies easier than juicing. But the juice has great value and for a couple of years I used it pretty much every day. I’m just not sure which one is a priority. I’d say you can’t lose either way.
